What does manual winding mean?

Manual winding means that you can also wind a mechanical watch using the crown.

With an automatic watch, winding normally happens through the movement of your wrist. The rotor inside uses this movement to store energy in the mainspring.

With manual winding, you can start the watch or supply it with energy even if it hasn't been worn for a while.

This is especially handy after the watch has been lying still for a longer period. Carefully turn the crown in its base position several times clockwise, then wear the watch regularly afterwards.
