Whether your watch may come into contact with water depends on the specific water resistance of the model.
Nevertheless, we generally recommend taking off the watch before showering.
Why shouldn't I shower with the watch?
When showering, not only water but also additional stresses affect the watch:
warm or hot water
water vapor
strong temperature changes
soap and shampoo
shower gel or other care products
These influences can place greater stress on seals and materials than normal contact with cold water.
Does this also apply to water-resistant watches?
Yes.
Even a watch with a higher water resistance rating is not automatically designed for repeated showering with hot water, steam, and care products.
The water resistance rating refers to defined test conditions and not to every conceivable everyday situation.
What about leather straps?
You should always take off a watch with a leather strap before showering.
Leather is a natural material and can age faster, discolor, or alter its structure due to water, heat, soap, and frequent moisture.
My watch got wet while showering – what should I do?
If your watch has accidentally gotten wet, dry it carefully afterwards with a soft cloth.
Also make sure that the crown is fully closed or, in the case of a screw-down crown, correctly screwed down.
If you notice moisture under the watch glass, you should no longer expose the watch to water and contact our customer service.
Where can I find the water resistance of my watch?
You can find the exact water resistance in the technical specifications of your model on our website.
Regardless, we recommend: It is best to take off the watch for showering.
